Kitchen Design Mistakes
Common mistakes
can make or break the design of a kitchen space. These mistakes though can be
avoided and identified during the planning phases itself and if so can end saving
you plenty of cash on re-fixes. A layout that isn’t practical is most common
mistake witnessed in most kitchen installations. Layouts that have pad placements of the
kitchen triangle are often a common cause. Ideally the sink, the refrigerator
and the stove that form the kitchen triangle needs to be placed within 7-8 feet
apart for smooth functioning and better efficiency while you cook.
The kitchen
triangle if ignored would lead to cooking tasks being a tiresome activity as
you would not have ease of access to the kitchen essentials. Lack of planning
for storage space is another commonly known of kitchen design mistake that
leads to plenty of clutter left around the countertops leaving the place to
look messy and untidy. Keep in mind to leave sufficient storage space while you
design the area as none of it is enough, so there more of it you have available
the better.
Not having sufficient natural and artificial lighting is another
commonly found mistake in kitchen design layouts. Natural lighting is essential
to allow fresh air and sunlight into the room to keep the area fresh and airy.
An improper artificial plan also has drawbacks as you will notice the room to
be appear dull and boring and above all you will have shadows cast over the
countertops when the lighting is imbalanced.
